The Emo and District Lions Club hosted its inaugural “Pet Valu Walk for Dog Guides” in Emo on Sunday afternoon. Twenty-two people and eight dogs walked the route from the fairgrounds to the river and back to raise money for the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides training school in Oakville, Ont. After the walk was complete, hotdogs and much-needed cold water were given out to the participants (pups, too), as well as a prize to the Marr family who raised $270, the most out of the Emo group. In total, $1,473 was raised for the cause.
