Hyven Huang of SkyAgTech piloted an XAG drone to seed oats at the Emo Agricultural Research Station last Thursday. He fills the unit, and it then disperses seed to a given area. Huang says the drone uses RTK (real-time kinematic positioning) for centimetre-level accuracy. RTK is similar to GPS, but with a much higher level of precision. Huang says that precision farming is already mature in other parts of the world and he hopes to help develop its use here in Canada.
