With Fisheries and Oceans Canada announcing earlier this week it will invest $370,000 into the rehabilitation of the Five-Mile dock, crews already have begun work there. The project involves repairs to the wharf’s substructure, replacement of the entire timber deck, and repairs to the floating docks, and should be finished before spring. Once the work is done, it is expected the facility will be transferred to Couchiching FN for ongoing public use.
