Dementia advice

Mary O’Connor, client services co-ordinator for the the Alzheimer Society of Kenora/Rainy River Districts, gave a presentation on how to make the most of a visit with someone who has dementia yesterday afternoon at the Fort Frances Volunteer Bureau. In conjunction with January being “Alzheimer Awareness Month,” a “Coffee Break” fundraiser for the local Alzheimer Society was held Monday at the Golden Age Manor in Emo while the annual “Forget Me Not” dinner will be held this Saturday (Feb. 2) at La Place Rendez-Vous. As well, the Linda Johnston Memorial dinner, prepared by the Red Hat Society, will be held at the Rainy River Legion on Feb. 16.
