Despite the frigid temperatures, Fort Frances Jail staff participated in a “Day of Action” demonstration there yesterday afternoon. Correctional services workers across the province took part in the protest against the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services. The Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU), representing the local correctional workers, is looking for a modest increase for its members, whose contract expired on Dec. 31.
