Seven Generations Education Institute (SGEI) Health Disciplines Coordinator Taylor Nobel demonstrates some of the functions of the Anatomage Virtual Dissection Table that has been set up at the school’s new Health Disciplines Simulation Lab at SGEI’s Fort Frances campus on Friday afternoon. The Anatomage provides a hi-tech alternative to textbooks and medical cadavers, allowing students to get “hands-on” with a highly detailed virtual body in order to study and learn the different organs, systems and other parts of human anatomy and physiology. The lab also features four advanced Laerdal mannequins who serve different functions and give students a chance to perform a number of different medical procedures and routine examinations like checking heart rates and blood oxygen levels.
