Controlled burn

A volunteer walks along one of the back roads at Kay-Nah-Chi-Wah-Nung Hitorical Centre, rake in hand, ready to push back any small fires that might try to jump the road to another area that was not part of the centre’s prescribed burn that took place on Saturday. The burn serves a number of ecologcal and cultural purposes and is usually held every one or two years, though a number of factors made this the first year since 2017 a burn has taken place. See tomorrow’s edition of the Fort Frances Times for the full story.
