CN workers locked out

Train conductors and engineers for CN Rail join a picket line at the Fort Frances rail yard, after being locked out by the company last night. Contract negotiations between the corporation and Teamsters Union broke down after months of stalled talks, resulting in labour action. Coupled with a concurrent strike of rail workers in CPKC, the labour disruption has brought rail traffic to a virtual standstill across Canada, impacting industry, agriculture and commuter trains nation-wide.
