St. Francis students helped finish the rice by cleaning the remaining husks that did not come off in the dancing and winnowing stages of preparation during the Seven Generations Education Institute’s annual “Fall Harvest” preparations workshop yesterday at the Nanicost grounds here. The two-day annual once again taught many traditional skills, such as tea making, cooking bannock, and tanning hides, as well as offered lessons on story-telling and drumming.
