Joy Lockman had a laugh with town council as she thanked them for selecting her as the “2020 Citizen of the Year” during last night’s meeting. She was nominated by her friend, Jennifer Wood, and received a plaque from Mayor June Caul that recognizes her tremendous volunteer services to the community. Since being chosen as “Citizen of the Year” on Nov. 25, Lockman has led the countdown of the tree-lighting ceremony by the post office and rode in a float during the Santa Claus parade.
