Nick Hahkala of the Fort Frances Lakers looked to motor his way toward the net around his Minnesota Iron Rangers’ opponents during the first period of his squad’s 6-5 win in their home-opener Friday night. The Lakers then fell 5-3 to the visiting Thunder Bay North Stars the following night to suffer their first loss of the SIJHL season (3-1-0-0).
