The Muskies football team took on the Kildonan East Reivers on Friday – the top-ranked team in the division. It was a true David and Goliath moment; the Reivers are a senior-heavy team, full of speed and experience. But the Muskies held their own, holding a 3-0 lead until midway through the third period, thanks to a field goal by Hayden Beckett. A couple lucky breaks put the Reivers over the top, ending in a final score of 34-3 for the rival team. The Muskies will play their final game of the regular season this Friday in Fort Frances, against the Kenora Beaver Brae Broncos, who hold a four win to two loss record. Kick-off is at 2 p.m. at the Fort Frances High School field. A concession is available, with all proceeds benefiting the team. The public is encouraged to come out for some great football and cheer hard for the Muskies! GO MUSKIES!
