Kayla Stang, eight, left, and James Blattner, eight, had a serious game of chess yesterday afternoon at the Fort Frances Public Library’s Check Mate Chess Club. Yesterday was the first meeting of the club, which will run every Thursday at 2 p.m. throughout the summer. Children ages six and up are encouraged to join.
