Local Boston Pizza franchisee Dale Fortes got ready to drop the puck between Boston Pizza Royals captain Jared Bethune and International Falls Broncos captain Jackson Vollom during opening ceremonies of the “Fire on Ice” PeeWee ‘AA’ tournament here Friday. The ceremony also paid tribute to the Knights of Columbus, who sponsored the Fort Frances rep team for more than 70 years. The Dryden Paperkings took the tourney title, with the host Royals finishing fourth.
