Eva Thornton and Anna Busch were saluted for their dedication in establishing the Riverside Breast Health Program, now celebrating its 25th year in the district, during an open house yesterday afternoon at La Verendrye Hospital. The open house paid tribute to the program’s history, as well as the hard work of the many who made it possible. The first of its kind in Canada, the program now sees more than 300 women each year, providing breast examinations and mammograms so breast cancer can be detected early on.
