Muskie running back Tyler Abma (#99) carried the football in Fort High’s season-opener against the Elmwood Giants here Friday afternoon. The Muskies (0-1) dropped a rain-soaked affair 26-8, but a couple of costly penalties negated big plays, including a 105-yard touchdown romp by Abma. Receiver Brad McDonald hauled in the Muskies’ lone touchdown of the game on a toss from quarterback Tobijah Gerber in the first quarter, with Fort High scoring its other points on the convert and a missed field goal. The black-and-gold next face the St. John’s Tigers this Friday in Winnipeg.
