Anne Marie Armstrong was among those who held a lit candle during yesterday evening’s service at Knox United Church to mark the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. The vigil paid tribute to the 14 women killed on Dec. 6, 1989 at L’Ecole Polytechnique, in what has become known as the “Montreal Massacre,” as well as to those across the district whose lives have been taken through gender-based violence.
