Bridge construction

bridge work

Sam Odrowski

Construction of the bridge between Rainy River and Baudette is well underway, having started in June of last year. The contractor will use a crane on the temporary causeway into Rainy River on the Minnesota side this summer. This will give crews a working space to construct the bridge abutment and first river pier. Starting in late spring and throughout the summer, the contractor will also be constructing the new concrete piers in Rainy River. To date crews have constructed 250-foot temporary causeways and abutments on the Minnesota and Ontario shorelines.
