Mitaanjigamiing First Nation chief Janice Henderson and Gobe Corporation Chief Operating Officer Randy Councillor spoke to the assembled crowd of dignitaries, community members and supporters at the official land blessing of the new development being planned for construction in the west end of Fort Frances. The new development has been confirmed to include a Co-Op gas station, a Smitty’s restaurant and a Studio 6 hotel, and will also feature additional housing and business opportunities. Henderson and Councillor both said the new development will help to drive economic growth both for Mitaanjigamiing and many of the other communities in the district.
