‘Blanket’ exercise

Nicholas Donaldson

Mr. Thomson’s Grade 8 history class at J.W. Walker participated in the Kairos Blanket Exercise last Friday. The exercise, run by First Nations-Métis-Inuit Collaborative Initiative leader Pam King, is a teaching tool that shows students how Europeans shrunk native land. The blanket represent the land for native peoples while a script read to the class goes over the history of Canada and First Nations’ relations.
