Captain Kayla Windigo (Red Gut Babes) showed what a “swinging” town Barwick can be on a Monday evening as she eventually beat out this grounder for an infield hit in the fifth inning of last night’s Rainy River District Women’s Fastball League all-star game. Catcher Rylee Redford (Fort Frances Angels) and the team captained by Darcy Smith (Northwest Bay Beavers) got the last laugh, though, as Windigo’s squad ended up on the short end of a 15-5 decision. The league playoffs begin tomorrow night with four games on the schedule.
