Bannock on a stick

J.W. Walker School students cooked up some bannock on a stick yesterday during the second day of the Seven Generations Education Institute’s annual “Fall Harvest” preparations workshop at the Nanicost grounds here. The event includes both Métis and aboriginal cultures and teaches traditional skills, such as preparing wild rice, cleaning fish, and tanning hides, as well as offering lessons on story-telling and drumming.
