Jess Caul of Taggs flashed some fancy footwork during her team’s 8-0 loss to Al’s Racquet Stringing in the regular-season finale for the women’s division of the Borderland Soccer League yesterday evening. The two teams will meet again in the league semi-final Aug. 9, with the winner facing the first-place La Place Rendez-Vous U18 Voyageurs in the championship game Aug. 11. In the men’s division, Manitou Forest Products beat the Voyageurs 3-1 to close out the regular season. The Vous finished first overall and will play fourth-place Pharmasave in one semi-final while second-place Manitou will take on third-place International Travel Services in the other. The semi-finals will see the teams play two legs, with the first leg set for next Thursday (Aug. 4). The second leg for the Vous and Pharmasave will go Aug. 8 while Manitou and ITS will conclude their semi-final Aug. 9, with the winners meeting in the men’s final also on Aug. 11.
