Coach Karissa Kajorinne of Thunder Bay huddled a group of girls around and gave them some instruction near the end of last Wednesday afternoon’s session at a basketball camp held at Fort High. The camp, which was open to both girls and boys ages 11-14, aimed to help get area youth prepared for their respective seasons ahead. Kajorinne played high school basketball for the St. Ignatius Falcons before going on to captain her Algoma University team for four years in Sault Ste. Marie, winning two athlete-of-the-year awards. She then attended Lakehead University in 2018-19 where she helped lead the Thunderwolves to a top-10 ranking in Canada and also scored the third-most three-pointers of any player in the country.
