Harper Gunderson, left, and Mckenna McTavish had fun painting their own personalized paddles as a part of a visual arts workshop at the “I Am Awesome (And I Know It)” self-esteem retreat on Friday. Girls at the retreat spent Thursday evening through Sunday participating in self-esteem building workshops and activities, with time set aside to swim, take part in a karaoke party, and forge new friendships. The visual arts workshop, called “Love Many, Trust Few, Always Paddle Your Own Canoe,” was led by Jenny Coats.
