Members of the Atikokan Voyageurs and Fort Frances’ Kaemingh Esso battled in the final of an Atom ‘A’ tournament at the Ice for Kids Arena on Sunday. The Voyageurs, who don’t have an Atom ‘AA’ program, took the crown with an 8-0 shoutout after advancing to the final thanks to earlier wins over the MEC Bulldogs (6-0), the Emo Hawks (10-2), Emo Canucks (6-1), and Current River Comets (12-0). The Causeway Cougars took the ‘B’ title with a 4-2 win over the KC Bruins while the Dryden Avalanche won the ‘C’ side after a 4-3 shootout win over the Emo Canucks.
