Riverside Foundation for Health Care is excited to announce that the winner of the New Year’s Eve Riverside 50/50 electronic raffle is Roanna Jourdain of Whitedog, ON with the winning ticket number N-5062709. Jourdain takes home the biggest pot yet of $37,650, with the same amount going to the Foundation. The draw was made Friday, December 31st at 11:00am in the Foundation Office.
“Is this a prank?” asked Jourdain when told she was the winner. Jourdain who has been purchasing tickets periodically was busy checking her ticket numbers on the Thunder Bay raffle and telling her daughters to check theirs when she answered the call from the Riverside Foundation. Her disappointment in not winning the Thunder Bay raffle quickly turned to disbelief that she had won a different one. She stated that she will probably spend the winnings on her kids, but will maybe purchase a new boat.
This jackpot was larger than the previous two combined and marked the first draw in the Foundation’s new monthly series of raffles. All proceeds from the monthly 50/50 raffles help support health care close to home including the $1.5 million dollar capital campaign, ‘Picture This’ for new diagnostic imaging equipment. Tickets for the January raffle are available now at www.riversidefoundation.ca/5050 at a cost of 10 for $10, 100 for $20 or our best deal, 250 for $40. If you prefer to purchase offline, please call the Foundation Office at 274-4803 to make arrangements.
A $500 early bird draw sponsored by West End Motors and Gillons’ Insurance will take place Wednesday, January 12th at 11:00am. Ticket sales for the jackpot close Sunday, January 30th at 9:00pm with the draw taking place Monday, January 31st at 11:00 am.
