Alzheimer Society of Kenora-Rainy River Districts’ Fort Frances director Carol Derksen, left, and client services co-ordinator Mary O’Connor held up the Alzheimer Society flag outside the Fort Frances Civic Centre on Monday morning to help kick off Alzheimer Awareness month in the region. The society has a number of events planned for the month, including a care essentials learning series, a virtual paint night and a special ‘Understanding Alzheimer Disease and Related Dementia’ workshop that will run on Thursday, January 13 at 6:00 p.m. and Friday, January 14 at 10:00 a.m. For more information about these workshops, or to register, call the Society at 807-468-1516.
