A passionate crowd took to La Place Rendez-Vous on the evening of Saturday, January 20, 2024, to attend the Alzheimer Society of Kenora-Rainy River’s Forget Me Not fund- raising dinner. The dinner, typically an annual event, has been missing in action since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, making its return this past weekend a welcome one. Attendees were treated to penny tables, silent auctions, entertainment from the night’s emcee Stephen Sinclair and performers Brittany Hayes Strachan and Ken Kellar, and a delicious meal prepared by Rendez-Vous staff. Following the dinner, Alzheimer Society of Kenora-Rainy River office and event planner Manveer Kaur and Client Services Coordi- nator Mary O’Connor delivered a pair of presentations highlighting the Alzheimer Society, the work it does, the services it offers, and even fielded a few questions about Alzheimer’s Disease and other forms of dementia. O’Connor is also hosting a virtual event this Thurs- day, September 25, 2024, beginning at 6:00 p.m. titled “Interacting Effectively with a Person Living with Dementia.” The presentation is free to attend and those interested can contact the Alzheimer Society at 807-468-1516 to register to receive the Zoom link.
