Team Bonot has brought home the silver medal to Northern Ontario in the Canadian Mixed Curling Championship. They battled their way through the 14 team bonspiel, held last week in Prince Albert, Sask, to reach the final on Sunday. Although they conceded 10-3 to Quebec after six ends, they won their matches against Manitoba, Ontario, Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island, British Columbia, New Brunswick and Northwest Territories.
The team plays out of the Fort William Curling Club in Thunder Bay, and is made up of lead Amanda Gates, second Mike McCarville and Rainy River District natives, siblings Jackie McCormick in third, and Trevor Bonot as skip. – Facebook photo
