Celebrating his 100th birthday, Walter Andrusco, centre, his son, Billy Andrusco, and daughter, Leda Beck, posed for photographers during a surprise birthday party held for him at the Ukrainian Hall yesterday afternoon. The crowd of well-wishers included Fort Frances Mayor Roy Avis and Thunder Bay-Rainy River MP Ken Boshcoff, who presented Andrusco with written greetings from several dignitaries, including Queen Elizabeth and Prime Minister Stephen Harper. —Beth Caldwell photo
