Pair of drivers face several charges

On Sunday around 1:40 a.m., a member of the Rainy River District OPP was on patrol near Reid Avenue in Fort Frances when he observed a Highway Traffic Act offence.
The officer conducted a traffic stop and spoke with the driver.
He subsequently was arrested and taken to the Fort Frances OPP detachment, where he underwent further tests.
As a result, a 42-year-old man of Robbinsdale, Mn. was charged with impaired driving and driving with a blood alcohol level over .08 mg.
He was released on a promise to appear in court here on Aug. 27.
Meanwhile, last Friday afternoon., members of the Rainy River District OPP received information about an impaired driver on Flanders Road.
An officer patrolled the area and conducted a vehicle stop.
The driver subsequently was arrested and taken to the Atikokan detachment for further tests.
As a result, a 39-year-old Lac La Croix FN woman was charged with impaired driving and driving with a blood alcohol level over .08 mg.
She also was charged with failing to comply with a recognizance.
The woman was being held in custody pending a bail hearing here Tuesday.
