Two people have died in a house fire in Nipigon.
Early Sunday, Nipigon OPP officers were dispatched to a structure fire on First Street there.
The Nipigon Fire Department was able to contain the fire to a single residence that was badly-damaged due to the smoke and flames.
Upon officers’ arrival, the fire department had located two deceased persons in the residence.
They were identified as the residence owners, whose names are being withheld until next-of-kin can be notified.
The OPP continues to hold the scene to assist the Office of the Fire Marshal in completing its investigation.
