One new fire was confirmed in the Northwest Region by yesterday afternoon.
Red Lake Fire #15, located near Richardson Lake, was listed as “being held” at 0.1 hectares in size.
Thunder Bay Fire #23, meanwhile, has been declared “out” at 0.1 ha.
The forest fire hazard is “high-extreme” in the northern sectors of the region, and “moderate-high” in the southern sectors.
Rain is in the forecast for the weekend.
