One of Canada’s best female volleyball players is coming to town.
Janie Guimond, the starting libero for the national women’s team, will conduct a two-day clinic at Fort High on Nov. 20-21 for club players in the U14, U16, and U18 age groups.
The Nov. 20 session will run from 5-10 p.m.
The following day’s schedule will depend on how the best-of-three NWOSSAA senior girls’ basketball final unfolds.
The Muskies will host the Thunder Bay champs that weekend should they capture the NorWOSSA crown here tomorrow.
The clinic is being co-hosted by the Fort Frances Fire ’N Ice Volleyball Club, the United Native Friendship Centre, and the Gizhewaadiziwin Health Access Centre .
Due to the latter two organizations providing the funding, the clinic will be free for participants.
Registration is set for tonight from 6-7:30 p.m. at the UNFC office on Mowat Avenue.
If the maximum number of athletes is not reached after registration, the clinic will be made open to the public.
