Muskies to face Trojans

The Muskie senior boys’ basketball squad now knows who they’ll face in the NWOSSAA playoffs, which open tomorrow night at the “Fish Tank.”
The Churchill Trojans finished off the Westgate Tigers 55-50 in a see-saw thriller Tuesday night to capture the Thunder Bay city crown two games to one.
The Trojans go-to scorers, Edwin Fui (22 points) and Matt Schmidt (14), lit up the scoreboard in the final quarter draining 15 points between them to seal the victory.
Churchill hadn’t won a city championship since 1986.
The host Muskies, meanwhile, are well-rested and ready, having clinched the NorWOSSA crown last Thursday with a 65-58 win over the host Kenora Broncos.
The best-of-three NWOSSAA final gets underway tomorrow at 7 p.m., with Game 2 slated for Saturday at 10 a.m.
Game 3, if necessary, will go Saturday at 3 p.m.
The winner will advance to the all-Ontarios on March 3-5 in Oshawa.
