The Muskies dished out payback in a big way here yesterday.
Nine days after losing three of four matches in Dryden, the black-and-gold swept all four versus the visiting Eagles in NorWOSSA play.
The match of the day came in junior boys’ volleyball, where the third-place Muskies (1-3) notched their first win of the season after rallying from two sets down against the second-place Eagles (2-2).
Set scores were 26-28, 25-7, 24-26, 27-25, and 15-10.
The senior boys’ match also went the distance, with Fort High moving into a tie for first with Dryden at 3-1 following a 3-2 triumph (29-27, 23-25, 25-15, 15-25, and 15-12).
In girls’ basketball action, the senior Muskies erased the painful memories of last week’s one-point loss in Dryden by dumping the Eagles 36-18 to create another tie atop the standings at 3-1.
Carmen Godin and Abby Sanders led the way with 10 points apiece.
As for the junior Muskies, Grace Petsnick netted 14 points as Fort High (4-0) cruised to a 44-36 victory.
Adyson Wilson-Hands and Sarah Larson each added eight points.
All four teams resume NorWOSSA action this Wednesday (Oct. 12) when they host the Kenora Broncos, with action getting underway at noon.
