The Muskie court teams did a great job of defending home court Tuesday afternoon against the Dryden Eagles.
Both the junior and senior girls’ volleyball squads came away victorious to improve to 2-0 in NorWOSSA play.
The juniors won in straight sets (25-8, 25-12, and 25-22) while the seniors prevailed in four sets (25-23, 25-17, 22-25, and 25-18).
In boys’ basketball action, the senior Muskies rolled to an 84-41 romp over the Eagles to even their NorWOSSA record at 1-1.
Kobi Ward led the black-and-gold offensively with a 21-point performance.
Wyatt Richards netted 13 points, Brandon Larson added 11, and Mike Vanderaa had 10.
The juniors were the lone squad to come out on the short end Tuesday, dropping a narrow 46-42 decision to Dryden to remain winless in league play (0-2).
Brett Schram scored a team-high 19 points while Jordon Bazylewski added 11.
All four teams resumed NorWOSSA action here this afternoon against the Kenora Broncos, with the outcomes not known as of press time.
The junior volleyball squad then will be in an exhibition tournament in Dryden on Friday and Saturday while the senior squad will be at one in Thunder Bay those same two days.
The senior boys’ hoopsters, meanwhile, will compete at tournament in Brandon, Man. on Friday and Saturday.
