A male driver was charged with impaired driving here yesterday around 12:50 p.m.
During a routine patrol, officers stopped a motor vehicle on the 200 block of Fifth Street East after observing a male driving who was known as being a suspended driver.
As officers were speaking with the driver, it was determined he had been drinking.
The 47-year-old Fort Frances man failed a roadside screen device and was taken to the OPP detachment for breath tests.
He subsequently was charged with having a blood alcohol level over .08 mg.
He also was charged with driving under suspension and driving while disqualified.
The vehicle was impounded for a minimum of seven days, and he was issued a mandatory driver’s licence suspension.
He was scheduled to appear court here today (Sept. 3).
