Mother’s Day concert sold-out

If you’ve waited this long to get tickets for The Scott Woods Show this Sunday at Knox United Church here, you’re out of luck.
“As of yesterday, we’re sold out,” said Bill Gushulak, who was looking after ticket sales for the fiddling concert.
“We actually have a waiting list of about half-a-dozen people who’ve phoned and are hoping that someone might not want to go,” he noted, adding he’ll see what he can do about it between now and Sunday.
A total of 275 tickets were sold for the concert, which has proved just as popular as when Woods was here last Mother’s Day.
The concert—being held to raise money for church-related projects—will run from 7-9 p.m. at Knox United. Refreshments will follow in McMillan Hall.
“It should be a great way to end Mother’s Day,” remarked Gushulak. “We’re looking forward to a great time.”
He has confirmed that Woods is on his way to Fort Frances, and that he looks forward to being here Sunday. Woods is on a 26-date tour this month, performing everywhere from Eastern Ontario to Medicine Hat, Alta.
The two-hour concert promises to skillfully combine old-time fiddling with country Gospel songs, perennial favourites, and a generous helping of humour.
Woods, who is backed by his own four-piece show band, has performed to enthusiastic crowds throughout Canada, the U.S., and Holland.
He has captured all the major Canadian fiddling titles, including Canadian Open Fiddle Champion, Canadian Grand Masters Fiddling Champion, and Canadian Fiddle Entertainer of the Year.
As well, Woods has several recordings to his credit, which will be available at the concert here.
