Market square input invited

Have an idea to help make the future Rainy Lake Market Square the best it can be?
A come-and-go open house is being held today (Feb. 16) from 4-7 p.m. at the Memorial Sports Centre auditorium.
The public is welcome to speak with representatives from Winnipeg-based architecture firm Scatliff Miller Murray on what they want to see in a market square.
According to social media and coffee shop talk, there’s loads of ideas out in the community for the new market square.
But the key right now is for people to drop by the arena auditorium and let the architects know.
No conceptual drawings or the like will be on display today as the project still is in its earliest phase.
That’s why public input is needed at this point.
Another public meeting will be held later in the spring, when the vision for the project will be coming together.
Some drawings will be ready then.
Scatliff Miller Murray will have tender-ready construction drawings completed by the end of June.
The town then will tender a contractor to build the market square, with the intent to begin work in late summer.
