LUCILLE MacDONALD

My family settled in the township more than 100 years ago. I grew up and went to school here. I then left the area as a teenager, returning with my husband and three sons in 1996.
I am now retired and live in the village of Devlin. I have deep roots in the township and a passion to serve!
My experience includes:
•10 years on council;
•14 years on the Cemetery Committee;
•11 years on the arena board;
•two years volunteering in the arena canteen;
•organized many fundraisers for the arena, such as the Las Vegas draw and community calendar;
•three years on the board of the Northwestern Health Unit as municipal rep for the district west of Fort Frances;
•two years organizing/volunteering at the canteen for children’s games at the Devlin Ball Park;
•four years organizing/cooking for the township community picnic;
•volunteered and donated to the ball park restoration and upgrades;
•three years volunteering for the Emo Walleye Classic’s “Big 10” raffle;
•organized and helped cook the fundraiser dinner for 2004 centennial celebrations;
•20-year member and volunteer at the local Royal Canadian Legion in Emo;
•joined Emo Volunteer Ambulance Service in 1990; and
•for 25 years worked as a paramedic for Rainy River District EMS.
Prior to that, I worked as a teller, then loan officer, for the Saskatchewan Credit Union System, which gave me some financial experience.
Some issues change while others remain the same. Keeping taxes reasonable while maintaining the assets we have always is at the forefront.
Managing change and being ready for opportunity is essential.
If elected reeve, I will continue to work hard to make the Township of La Vallee and surrounding community a better place to live for my family and yours.
