The picture for the Fort Frances Lakers’ 2019-2020 roster is becoming more clear as the weeks go by.
The Lakers announced last Wednesday (July 17) that local forward Noah Loveday is set to return for his third season with the club.
“This is a guy that works hard for 200-feet every time he is on the ice,” Lakers’ head coach/general manager Wayne Strachan said of Loveday.
“We believe he can be a strong voice and leader this season with a couple years under his belt now. Look for him to have a productive season in a Lakers’ uniform this year.”
Loveday, 20, appeared in 41 games for the Lakers last season in which he tallied nine goals and 12 assists.
That was good enough to put him 11th in team scoring.
He then added a goal in three playoff games as the Lakers were swept by the Dryden GM Ice Dogs in their best-of-five quarter-final series.
In 97 career games with Fort Frances, Loveday has tallied 20 times and added 29 helpers.
He also has two goals in 11 career playoff games in the red, black and white.
