A pair of local bowling teams will be representing Sunset Country at the YBC provincial roll-offs March 5-6 in North Bay after striking gold at the zone round last weekend at Plaza Lanes here.
The Bantam girls’ team, consisting of Alexis Parker, Kora Cook, Alina Eldridge, and Jacey Bump, along with coach Jeff Watts, captured top honours in their division with a total pinfall of 1,963.
Meanwhile, the Junior boys’ squad, made up of Brendan Morand, Dusty Good-Thurber, Josh Supinski, and Jonah McCormick, along with coach Rick Stamarski, topped their division with a 2,606 total.
In related news, local bowlers Natasha Petawanaqueb (Senior girls), Lyle Dolph (Senior boys), Dallas Gervais (Junior boys) and Telia McFarlane (Bantam girls) also will be headed to North Bay to compete in the singles events at the provincial roll-offs.
