After two weeks of gorgeous skies at the Emo Speedway, Mother Nature reared her ugly head once again this past weekend.
Rain on Saturday morning, coupled with a steady drizzle throughout the day, led to the third cancellation of the season at the 3/8-mile oval.
Action is set to resume there this Saturday (weather permitting), with hot laps at 7 p.m. and the first race at 7:30.
With only two race nights completed so far this season, the point standings remain extremely tight in each of the three divisions.
Gavin Paull currently leads the way in the WISSOTA Modifieds after sweeping the first two weekends of action.
Defending division champ Glen Strachan sits seven points behind.
Gary Wilson follows in third in the standings, with Dwayne Pihulak and Ron Korpi rounding out the top five.
The tightest points race belongs to the WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds, where opening week feature winner Chuck Lambert has a single point lead over Tylar Wilson, who took home the checkered flag during the second week of racing.
Christopher Leek, who has a pair of heat victories so far this season, only is six points back of the lead, with defending division champ Brady Caul just three points behind Leek.
Mike Wilson currently sits in fifth in the standings, with Cody Ossachuk and Anthony Visser lurking close behind.
And in the Street Stocks division, Bemidji, Mn. driver Don Bowman is in the top spot while defending champ Ron Westover, who has been running Libby Wilson’s car so far this season, is just four points back.
Jeff Wickstrom leads Richard Visser by only two points for third, with Carlee Bosma a single point ahead of Tyler Wickstrom for fifth.
