For a pair of rookies, Noah Armstrong and Parker Wiersema seem to know their way around a wrestling mat.
The Fort Frances residents were part of the 21-member Mighty Mustangs wrestling team based in International Falls that travelled to the Minnesota Jaycee state wrestling championship in Grand Rapids, Minn. on Saturday.
Armstrong came in third in the Grade 2/70-pound category, while Wiersema managed a fourth-place result in the pre-Kindergarten/Kindergarten 46-pound division.
Their appearance at the state championship is even more remarkable considering both competitors have only been wrestling since December.
