The top team in the Fort Frances Women’s Volleyball League has the rest of the circuit wondering what it’s going to take to slow them down.
The One-Hit Wonders have been perfect over the first three weeks of the season—racking up the maximum six points once again last Thursday.
It’s a streak of success that has the squad sitting with 18 points.
That’s one point up on second-place Kiss My Pass, who kept pace by earning six of their own last Thursday to sit at 17 overall.
No Diggity, meanwhile, moved into a third-place tie with Bump It Up at 12 points after also collecting all six last week.
Bump It Up picked up four.
Gillons’ Northerners fell back somewhat with a three-point outing that dropped them into a fifth-place tie with Let’s Talk About Sets (11), which had two for the night.
Wild Sets mustered only two points and now is in seventh (nine).
Close behind is defending champion Scared Hitless, who had a season-high four points in Week 3 to sit in eighth place (eight points).
Spiked Punch (seven), which collected two points on the night, is in ninth (seven) while Rockstars, who also had its top outing of the season with four, is in 10th (six).
But the troubles continue for Sloppy Sets and I’d Hit That, who remain buried in the cellar with neither one earning a point yet.
Action resumes tonight at 7 p.m. with games scheduled only for St. Michael’s School (the Fort High gym is unavailable for use).
