Women’s spike league finalists set

They were two of the three best teams all season and now they will settle the issue of who is really the best one-on-one.
Defending league champion How I Set Your Mother, the top squad during the regular season this year, will lock horns with third-ranked Kiss My Pass in the championship final of the Fort Frances Women’s Volleyball League tomorrow at 7 p.m. at Fort High.
How I Set Your Mother is in the driver’s seat as the ‘A’-side champions–completing their unbeaten run through the top half of the playoff bracket by beating Kiss My Pass in the ‘A’ final last Thursday.
That dropped Kiss My Pass down to the ‘B’-side, where it promptly took care of last year’s league finalist and second-ranked No Diggity to advance to the title match.
How I Set Your Mother only needs to win one out of a possible two matches tomorrow to make it back-to-back championships.
Kiss My Pass, meanwhile, will have to beat the defending champs twice tomorrow night in order to dethrone them.
Earlier last Thursday, No Diggity ended the season for fourth-ranked Bump it Up in one third-round ‘B’-side match while seventh-seeded Scared Hitless eliminated fifth-rated Gillons’.
No Diggity then closed the door on the title hopes of Scared Hitless in the ‘B’-side semi-final.
The league’s Most Sportswomanlike Award will be handed out after the championship match.
In other league news, president Laureen Peters announced on the group’s Facebook page last Wednesday that she will be stepping down at the end of the season due to time constraints.
A new president will be chosen at a later date.
