Women’s soccer teams sit even

A little “TnT” was pure dynamite for La Place Rendez-Vous/Taggs Source for Sports on Monday evening.
Tianna Veldhuisen and Erin Tomalty each tallied twice to spearhead a 7-3 win for Vous/Taggs over Al’s Racquet Stringing in women’s division action in the Borderland Soccer League.
Veldhuisen scored a pair for the second-straight game while Tomalty bounced back from having her three-game goal-scoring streak snapped to move into the league lead with six this season.
Hailey Beaudry, Dale Doggett, and Claire Sobkowicz also scored for Vous/Taggs, which moved into a tie with Al’s in the standings with 2-2-2 records.
Jess Caul played the first half between the pipes for Vous/Taggs while Tomalty took over after halftime.
After playing in goal for the first half, Sara Kellar moved up for the second half and fired home two goals to give her four for the season.
Mika Kooistra had the other goal for Al’s while Sara Roach replaced Kellar in net for the second half.
The two sides will meet again this Monday at 7 p.m.
In the men’s division, Monday’s game between the top two teams was postponed for unknown reasons.
First-place Centra Pipelines (5-1) and second-place Manitou Forest Products (4-1-1) will be rescheduled for a still-undetermined date.
Pharmasave (2-6) and CJ Contracting (2-5-1), who round out the standings, were slated to play each other last night (score unavailable).
CJ then will take on Manitou tonight at 7 p.m.
