Wolves ousted at tourney

After an encouraging start at the North American Fastpitch Association World Series in Des Moines, Iowa over the weekend, the Sight & Sound Wolves couldn’t keep the trend going forward.
Faced with tough opponents on Thursday (the tournament’s opening day), the Wolves won their first two games in the A-Major division.
But the local squad, which included other players from the Rainy River District Fastball League, dropped a 6-4 decision to the Kansas City Angels on Friday.
Then they were bounced from further contention with a 2-1 loss to Scarlett’s (South Dakota) on Saturday.
In related news, the RRDFL will resume its post-season play tomorrow night (Aug. 17) with the Big Grassy Braves hosting the Sabaskong Cubs.
That winner then will host Barwick Knights on Thursday (Aug. 19) for the right to play Sight & Sound in the final next week.
